This kit is used for the quantitative determination of H-FABP in human serum, plasma or whole blood in vitro. Heart type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) is a small molecular protein with molecular weight of 14000-15000. It is specific in the cytoplasm of cardiac myocytes and rich in content, because cardiac myocytes are highly sensitive to ischemia and hypoxia. Therefore, when myocardial cells are ischemic and anoxic, H-FABP with small molecular weight, rich content and water-soluble is easy to leak out to the intercellular substance through the cell membrane, enter the blood circulation, reach the peak concentration in 3-4 hours, and return to the baseline level in 20-40 hours after myocardial injury. H-FABP can be used as an early marker of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) because of its rapid rise in blood and rapid clearance by kidney.
